vote[1]

My friends, whether you're looking for the change America needs or believe in putting country first, if you're thinking about the economy (stupid) or still believe that it is morning again in America, you will have very little say in the democratic process (thereby the future of this great nation) unless you vote. Read my lips, I'm not telling you who to vote for; I'm just saying that not voting negates a right that not every U.S. citizen, or gender, had at one point in the history of our nation. So please, if you're registered to vote, even if you're late for work, standing in line (braving the elements) well past 8pm, wanting to elect the B.E.E.R. Party candidate, or expecting a chicken in every pot, go vote so you do not stand with the cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.*

This is my first presidential election I'll be voting in and I couldn't be happier to wait in line and have my say. I know there are enough ballots for everyone (because there are) and my Zune will make the time fly (because it will). Finally, if you're feeling so inclined, share some photos of your voting experience with the New York Times-run Polling Place Photo Project.

*Can you name the nine total (eight individual) presidential/presidential campaign references in this paragraph?
