No, I'm not going to talk about swine flu or H1N1 influenza A. I'm not into spreading fear and ignorance.
Not sure how many of you know, but I LOVE sports. I can watch just about whatever sport without any problems and I'll have fun. So I want to talk to you all about American football. I only say American because most of us know that the rest of the world outside the United States plays with a round ball that they kick around from one end of a field to the other.. As opposed to using an egg-shaped pigskin (hahaha), handling it with one's uh hands, and not kicking it so much.
Earlier in the week.. Or rather last week, I read an article stating that the National Football League (NFL) is in cahoots with officials in London, England to hold the Super Bowl there in 2013 or so.
I tried to find that article again, but was unsuccessful. Sue me.
However, I did find these.
After reading the article I found, I was rather upset. Then I read the comments and didn't seem that my feelings were unjustified.
Most of the comments on the page were furious that the NFL wants to outsource something that is only loved in the United States. A lot the comments want European soccer championships to be held here first, then maybe send the Super Bowl oversees.
Now I know that there have seen three regular season games held in London; the city is more than capable of being able to support all the fans. That isn't my point.
But to send the Super Bowl out of the United States?
What do you think? Is this a good move for the NFL to make? Will they lose US fans? Does the NFL even care or are they just all about the money? Will US fans make the trip out of the country to where ever the NFL decides to hold the Super Bowl?
Your thoughts..?
