1. What type of Zune do you currently own?
In the past I’ve owned a Zune 30, and currently enjoy a Zune 120.
2. What have you learned from your friends at Zune Social?
I’ve learned that social networking is where the future of all integration. I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t buy into the whole, “hey share your music! It’s like Woodstock!” motif that the Zune social was first presented to us as. After using it for a while I’ll admit I was completely wrong, and I think the new motto of my website says it best. “Making music isn’t a solitary experience, and listening to it shouldn’t be either.”
3. What made you decide to get a Zune over any other MP3 player?
What brought me to the Zune ecosystem was the Zune 30s rugged exterior. Previously I owned an iPod with Video that constantly died even after being repaired by Apple twice. Once I heard of the subscription system it was all over –I knew I had to get one.
4. What type of music do you listen to (name as many as necessary -- genres/groups)?
I will listen to anything to except country. I don’t get country, I mean it’s depressing. Who wants to listen people sing about a hill of beans? Just Joking, I’m a big fan of every kind of music, even stuff that you wouldn’t necessarily think someone my age would a clue about, especially vocal artists like Sinatra.
Of course everyone has the stash that they had from everyone else. I like anything made by music producer Danja including the last Britney Spears and Danity Kane albums. I can’t explain it myself but hey don’t judge me.
5. What's your favorite thing about Zune (favorite feature)?
Although Zune Pass is by far my most used feature of Zune, one of the most interesting bits about owning a Zune is the reverse syncing. I can honestly say it’s saved my ass eh butt more then a few times including a few months ago when I accidentally formatted my computer. The ability to get your stuff on a media player is always talked about but the ability to get your stuff off just as easily isn’t.
6. Where do you use your Zune? Working out? At the office?
My Zune is all about listening loud, so where else would you do that better then your car. I’ve got a customized 94 Taurus LX, so in the morning I open the sunroof turn the music up loud and gettin’ down with my bad self. Once I’m at work it’s all about podcasts. I enjoy somewhere around 24 hours of podcasts a week, so it’s really also become my tv too.
7. What are some of your hobbies? What's your life like away from Zune Social?
Well obviously because of my music is a big part of my life. Other than that I am a big fan of clubbing on weekends, reading up on history, being immersed in podcasts, and photography. Oh and politics! I’m a political junkie, there’s just something that feels good about the way the government is run it’s like my personal Olympic sport.
