Happy Hour: To Sing Or Not To Sing

Since I don't watch too much tv, I'm not sure how mainstream this topic is. However, the Spanish-speaking world (you know, the one that will take over the US by 2050), is all a flutter with a concert that is to be held in Havana, Cuba on 20 September 2009.

What's the big deal?

Well it IS Cuba. Colombian singer Juanes (click on ENGLISH on the top right hand side of the page) is set as the main act along with Panama-born Miguel Bosé.

I don't want to sway what anyone thinks, so you will have to do some research so as to come to your own conclusion:
The articles start to sound repetitive after two or three.

So.. What do you think? Is Juanes being treated fairly? Is the concert really about peace? Should he be left alone because he claims his intentions aren't malevolent? Are things being blown out of proportion? Is this a fair depiction of Juanes' actions? Can
a comparison be made with the Dixie Chicks' scandal to what is going on with Juanes?
For English-only speakers: Due to the fact that you do no speak Spanish, do you even care? Is this something that you feel doesn't have any ties to your own life?
