Zune Social: I have to honestly say I am in complete awe: Inside the Circle has managed to make it through another year on the air. We are eternally grateful for everyone's support of our little endeavor here and we hope that we can continue to be a place you visit for news, discussion and the sharing of both music and ideas. This month marks our 2nd year anniversary month. Our official birthday is July 26th, however, we wanted to spend the entire month celebrating not only just our accomplishments but you as a community, Zune as a media service and music as an entertainment vessel! So here's what is planned for this month:
Fundraising: A good while ago Inside the Circle teamed up with ZuneSpring to host a fundraiser for the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation. Those efforts raised $115, which on the face sounds small, but that's an amount that is still going towards helping to furnish kids with instruments so they can discover the power of music.
Inside the Circle is again spearheading an online fundraiser, this time for the VH1 Save the Music program. This program is designed to help keep music education in our schools. You can click here to go to our specific page and donate. Do not worry, any amount large or small is greatly appreciated.
Giveaways: Inside the Circle has always been about celebrating the community and we've tried to do that with various giveaways. In the past two years we've given away things such as Microsoft Points, Zune devices and poster packs. We shall continue that headstrong into July -- look for plenty of contests to pop up both here and on our Facebook page as we will reward you guys for your continued support.
Gaming Nights: Little by little in previous months, the writers here have been showing their gaming side. Working with fantastic gaming communities such as 360 Junkies, SFX-360 and XXL Gaming we want to continue that effort throughout July. Keep an eye out for a couple of gaming nights that we will be hosting (I'm sure Neville is itching to do something revolving around the game Blur). It's your chance to chat with us, play a few rounds and have a great time.
MSMVP: During the month of July, I will be hosting my first ever major event as an MVP. That event is called MSMVP and it will be taking place at the Mission Viejo Microsoft Store. The initial date said July 24th, but there's plans to move it to July 31st to accommodate my fellow MVPs who want to participate and to give extra time for planning. The event will essentially just be a large party where MVPs and the community come together for an afternoon of giveaways, gaming tournaments and more.
It is my hope that events like MSMVP continue to grow and expand in the years to come into something where all of MS stores can take at least one day out of the year and celebrate the positive impact of MVPs on the community.
