(Otherwise known as San Diego Comic-Con International.. And it runs from 22 - 26 July 2010)

I told myself that I wasn't going to post anything Comic-Con related until at least next week..

BUT! I got my badge today via email (the only way to get anything now-a-days) and I am ALL kinds of excited!

Obviously, I couldn't contain my school girl giddiness.

So you all get to suffer.
^_^

For our new friends that haven't a clue as to what I'm rambling on about, here's the skinny:
San Diego Comic-Con International is all about the pop arts and pop culture, including but not limited to the conservation of: movies, comics, comic books, anime, manga, art (usually morbid), cartoons, video games, books, TV shows, adult entertainment, Pokemon, Yu-Gi Oh ..you get the picture.

Pretty much everything you hold near and dear. Except music.

I've been going to Comic Con since around 2003. And you canNOT imagine all the free loot I've gotten since; pounds upon pounds of free stuff each year. Autographs, posters, books, comics, stickers, bags, duffel bags, poster-holdy tubes, lanyards, pencils, pens, magazines, toys, bookmarks, candy, energy shots, masks, key chains. It. Is. Insane.

I go into a little more detail in this post. You can also search Comic-Con here at ItC and read up on my past posts.

Due to the fact that I am ever so graciously given so much free stuff by the generous exhibitors at The Con, you will get the chance to win some of it.
I'll post everything you need to know on the morning of Wednesday, July 21, 2010.

Also, since I'll be there from 21-26 July (no, that isn't a typo. I will be there starting Wednesday), I'll make sure to document everything for those that didn't make it this year. However, you will have to wait until sometime after The Con for me to post anything; I don't have a Twitter account (yet) and I'm not about to do any live blogging. To make up for that, I'll shoot some video this year.

If you wanted to make it this year but weren't able to for whatever the reason, you can still try to buy badges from the official site. People are returning their badges (don't ask me why) and they're being re-sold at face value. Also, there is a special going on that includes hotel room in Mission Valley (a 'hood not too far from downtown) and four day passes.
If that doesn't work out for you, buy your badge(s) for next year not any later than the end of THIS month.

The lease that Comic-Con International has with the San Diego Convention Center is due to expire in 2012. As of now, the powers that be want to do one of two things: expand the San Diego Convention Center or move The Con. Don't really know how it'll be expanded.. Unless they build on the bay. If The Con is moved, it looks like it'll be held in Anaheim, since Los Angeles' convention center was teared down to make a stadium. Or something. But it does look like it'll be Anaheim, CA.

So we can all crash at Marques' in 2013.
