Hear NoHo was very busy on August 5th! WOW!! What a great lineup and amazing talent, this month's festival kicked some serious butt. We'd like to thank everyone for their support!! We hope y'all had fun!!
Now, a little of my experience @ Hear NoHo.
Myself, Amy, our music director and Phil one of the audio engineers met up with instructor, Katrin Balassanian and the students of the Art Institute.
...6:15pm. Excited, we knew
that a busy night was ahead of us. It was the first time we worked an event together. The students were briefed on evening assignments, wristbands were passed out, and off we went on our tour of the 3 venues.First, at the art institute. We took charge of the culinary department's eatery, and divided the area into a diagonal space. It worked well with the acoustic set planned and accommodated many more people than we anticipated. :D Burger!!!!!! www.artinstitutes.edu/hollywood
There is so much happening I can only scratch the surface of what I want to tell you. I'm sure as the news gets around you will hear more and more about it. There are too many people to mention like comic, Jimmy Talarico who came out to emcee. He's producing a great comedy night on Wednesdays over at Sal's Comedy Hole. Get @MrJimmyTalarico on twitter. tell him I sent you ;)
We must have looked pretty intimidating all dressed in black. :P About 20 of us walking into Cella Gallery... isn't walking in a group of 6 people or more considered a gang? I dunno. Bah ha
ha ha ha...!..! westside :P View images from that night!

Kenzie Alexander, Co-Owner of Cella Gallery and Executive Producer of Hear Noho, met us with a huge smile on her face, and tons of stimulating information, it was an awesome greeting. It's amazing how the art gallery's acoustics produce such a lovely straight shot of sound for your ears to enjoy. www.cellagallery.com
We already had our radios on so my ears were buzzing with static and jive as we headed over to Spencer's setup at NoHo PAC. He was kind enough take a few minutes after Sixx Carter's sound check to introduce himself. What a cool sound guy! Colby, from NoHo PAC gave us the 2 cent tour of their dance studio, lounge, full kitchen, amenities and stage area. www.nohopac.com.
Now it was time to split up and get moving. The students and I broke off into random conversations as Bludika was practicing his emcee routine. We then drifted off for a last minute break before the onslaught of guests.
As I'm sure you can imagine, these events can be extremely unpredictable. But Katrin and I know the value of flexibility. Everything turned out awesomely well and I'd have to agree with her when she stated that no matter what, anything can happen. So make sure you are prepared. Personally, I think that immense preparation is a vital step towards success.
It turned out to be a long night, so you can imagine how tired we were by 12:00am.
I was toast. If anyone got photos we would love to see them. CHEERS!!
